If your child wants to bring Valentines in for the class tomorrow, a list of names was sent home on Monday. Please be mindful that we do have some children with allergies in the class. We will pass out the Valentines at the end of the day and your child will be told to leave any food closed until they get home. Please reiterate that they should not eat it on the bus.
We have finally finished all of our benchmarks! As a whole, everyone did very well! I am currently reading the prompts that your child completed on Monday. So far, the stories are great! I think the work that we've been doing in writing is helping to brush up on the usage skills and there were fewer mistakes in this domain now.
In math we have finally started on fractions. Right now we are going to focus on converting fractions to decimals and percents. We will also be ordering them. Your child should be able to complete this type of fraction to decimal conversion without the aid of a calculator.
In science our unit test is tomorrow and will cover cells and the plant and animal kingdom. We will begin exploring matter soon!
Picture forms came home with the report cards on Monday. If you are choosing to get a class picture, you can send the money in on the day that we take the pictures or you can prepay online. If you choose to go online to place your order, please send me a note letting me know that your child gets a picture. This will help me when the pictures arrive as I don't get a copy of who purchases the class picture online.
