Our next BAT Day is coming up in April. Please encourage your student to do his or her best so that they can earn beans to pay for their activity. I am proud to say that classroom behavior seems to be improving and we have actually gotten 3 class compliments this week, including 1 from Mrs. Hand!
Please continue to study the Wordly Wise words over the weekend. Your child should be writing sentences with 10 of their new words every weekend. From student feedback, the popular opinion seems to be that they are enjoying learning the Greek and Latin root words more than they "regular" wordly wise words.
Math
Next week we will begin our unit on quadrilaterals. Although this is not very challenging for most students, it is often the one of the lowest strands and test grades of all. This is due to the fact that test questions are often definition heavy but also ask students to analyze and evaluate the reasons shapes are the same or different. Study guides will be glued into notebooks on Monday. The test will be Friday.
Science
We are finishing up our Matter unit and should be all done by the end of next week. The test is tentatively scheduled for Monday, March 27. A study guide for this was also glued into their science notebooks when we started the new unit.
Reading
Next week we are going to be working on point of view and also comparing and contrasting.
