By Friday, we will be finished with the SOS simulation for oceans. You child will be showcasing their presentation one day this week. I can not wait to see the creative and informational summaries that they have made for their classmates. Next week, will finish our study of the ocean with a study guide coming home on Monday (10/29) and the Unit Test on Friday (11/2).
In writing, we are working on writing five paragraph essays. The focus the last two weeks has been on making a "BIG" opening paragraph that narrows down to the topic which will then be the focus of the next 3 paragraphs. Once students have this down, we will be working on composing a nice closing paragraph that restates the topic and finishes "BIG".
A big thank you to the parents who have returned the blogging permission slips. I will not be able to give your child access to a blog/webpage if they do not return this slip signed with your permission granted. The students are very excited about beginning and I am excited to see what they create and design.
This Friday, 10/26, grades will be coming home. This will give you a better idea of where your child's average is at this point in the marking period. Along with this sheet, the NWEA Maps report will be coming home as well. You do not need to return the NWEA forms. They are yours too keep.
