In math, we are continuing working with computation of whole numbers. There will be a test on Tuesday, 10/29. Calculators are not allowed. The most common errors that I am seeing is that students are not calculating math facts correctly. Fluency is important. If you would like, have your child go to this site and work on math fact timed tests. At this point, they should be able to do any operation.
After the test on Tuesday, we will do a QUICK review of decimal rounding. A quick quiz on that will be given on Friday 11/1.
Then, the following Monday, 11/4, we will pick up with computation of decimals. This year, you child will have to add, subtract, mulitply, and divide decimal numbers. As always, there will be links to extra resources in schoology that they can use to help them learn the concept.
In reading, my class' book reports are due 11/8.
Book orders are due today. If you would like to help our classroom out by placing an order, go here.
Also, I am going to do "You Can Do The Cube" in the spring with my class and teach them how to solve the Rubik's cube. Right now, Amazon has them on sale for $3.44! If you can donate some to our class, we would LOVE to have a class set. So far, we have 10, so only 15 more to go! Here's the link for that!
