Also, thank you for speaking with your children about classroom behavior. Please keep asking about their day and checking up on dojo, so you can stay in the loop. We have had a MUCH better week since the phone call went home on Tuesday night and I know that this trend will continue.
Also, many of the students are telling me that they have "lost" or "run out of pages" in their notebooks. Could you please check with your child to see if they need to purchase a new one? They need a spiral notebook for Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies. We use a composition notebook for Writing.
Next Monday is a holiday for students.
A Peek at our Week:
Math: We will begin working with angles and triangles. I am not sure when the test will be, but probably around the first of the week of Feb. 27.
Reading: New wordly wise words are coming home TODAY. We are now going to amp up the timeline for the words, and students will be given new words on Friday and then the test will be on the following Thursday. When we come back to school on Tuesday, reading groups will begin reading a new non-fiction story.
Science: We will be taking about a week and a half off from science. When we start back up, our focus will be on SOL 5.4 Matter.
Social Studies: We are beginning our study of the Northeast region of the United States. Be on the look out for notes to come home glued into your child's notebook.
