With the wrap up of the unit on Scientific Investigation in Science, our class will be moving on to a study of the Ocean. I have an exciting simulation planned and can't wait to see how much the students learn about salinity and ocean currents and tides. Using their research skills, each table will research where a family is stranded from a series of clues and then create a presentation to convince the G.E.T.U. to go and rescue the family. This unit is expected to take about three weeks to complete.
In math, we are zipping along and will continue to work on Order of Operations in both classes this week. I am pleased with the progress that I am seeing in class and they will get to show what they know for a quiz/test grade on Friday of this week. Next week, we will start work on the different properties in mathematics.
