Yesterday we had our first Young Scientist Program. I hope your child told you all about it. I was very impressed with all of the activities that the teacher did with the class.
We are finishing up our unit of Challenge Math and will be going into patterns next. Tomorrow there will be a grade taken that will cover everything that we have worked on the last week and a half. In Science, we are in Phase 1 of our SOS unit. Right now, the students are learning about the different types of currents and how they form. They will be applying that knowledge soon when they begin getting clues as to where their family is stranded. In writing, we are finishing up our Thankful prompt. We have reviewed "big" openings and solid conclusions, so I am excited to read what they are thankful for. Report cards will be coming home next Monday. By now, you have also received your child's last progress report of the nine weeks. The grades that were on that, are the final averages that you can expect to see on the report card.
