Spring NWEA MAPS Testing will begin right after students return from Spring Break. We strongly hope that every student shows growth. If you’d like to guide your child towards practicing skills at home that would help, my best advice – in addition to having them read independently for pleasure every day – is to have them go to http:///www.clever.com (When students log in with their school username and password, it will take them to the same options they see on Clever at school.)
From there, students may log in to Study Island and click on the My NWEA Growth Path which will direct them to skills based on their Fall MAPS scores. Alternatively, students may go to Schoology and in the Reading Course they may click on the Exact Path link to take them to lessons and practice activities that are again based on their own tested skill levels.

Field Day T-shirt Orders – The absolute last day to order these is this Friday, March 30, and all orders must be sent in to school. Please circle the size you would like for your child since the order forms were confusing. Be sure to include a check for $9.50 (to Short Pump Elementary) or exact change. Thank you.
Career Day is this Thursday – Ms. Walker has assembled an excellent selection of volunteers – including some of you – to present information about a variety of career options. Each student will attend three sessions based on choices they made in a previous guidance lesson with Ms. Walker. I hope students are inspired by something they learn. In Honor of Career Day, students have a “Dress for Success” spirit day Thursday as well.
