Week of January 3rd, 2022
Hello Families!
HAPPY NEW YEAR & WELCOME BACK!!!
The end of the nine weeks is FAST approaching!! NOTE THIS IS ON JANUARY 26th (about 3 weeks away)!!! Please make sure you are following all assignment directions and staying after school if you have any questions or need help! Feel free to sign up with a teacher on Wednesday in order to make sure you are catching up with your assignments. Please always feel free to reach out with any questions you might have on DOJO or email, schoology or CLEVER! Let’s start strong in 2022!!!
Please review the newsletter below for materials needed, important dates, and concepts we will cover throughout the next week:
- Join the PTA HERE: https://vapta-12462441.memberhub.com/store
- Please make sure you fill out your INTENT for next school year HERE!
- COMPUTER HELP: As a reminder, please access this site for Henrico Family Device & Digital Resource Support. Also, click here for information on in-person technical support. YOU CAN TAKE YOUR COMPUTER TO THE NEAREST MIDDLE SCHOOL FOR SUPPORT ON THE DEVICE! It is critical that you take care of your device and keep all programs running smoothly for a seamless educational experience. Use this Google Form: For HotSpots for the internet or any other computer needs.
- LEXIA & DREAMBOX: Please make sure you are completing your Lexia AND Dreambox weekly! These activities will hold weight on your final grade. THIS IS REQUIRED BY THE HVA!!!!
- LATE WORK: Remember late work will be graded after it is turned in and NOT IMMEDIATELY as we are trying to keep up with current material. Make up work does take a back seat to this. Know we will get to it more quickly IF you send a schoology message. Please stay after if you have turned in a late assignment and it has not been graded, but you see new grades have been added to the gradebook (as we sometimes are not notified when submitted). Make sure you send us a schoology/clever message when you complete an assignment.
- Wellness Wednesday is in full swing - we will continue to adjust weekly as needed. We will continue to offer conference times where students can sign up to meet with the teacher as needed. Remember groups/activities will vary from week to week so being on-time and present is essential to student learning! This should allow for more help, clarification and one on one assistance as needed for students! Thank you for being Flexible with our Wellness Wednesday Schedule, we have had a lot of positive communication and feedback about this day and hope that it continues to help students!! Starting in the new year we will be starting a school wide CODING CLUB that will start on Wednesdays! 5th grade will be the pilot for this club so check out the Wellness Wednesday slides for more information if interested (this is optional and open to students who have no missing assignments). The Wellness Wednesday slideshow is located in the SCHOOLOGY HOMEROOM COURSE UNDER THE BUTTONS!
