What are we learning next week with Mrs. Toth?
Reading/Writing- Students have been reading and learning about students who desire to make a change in their communities. This week, students will write a letter to their principal that explains a change they would like to take place within their school. We will follow the writing process throughout the week, and students will submit their final copy of their letter on Friday for a grade. Students will work on their Independent Work Menu which will be posted to this week’s reading folder in Schoology.
Social Studies- Students will complete a series of NE region task cards. They will explore land and water features, the climate, population, and more! A slideshow will be provided with detailed notes and visuals. Their tasks cards will be assigned in Schoology and will be due Monday, March 29th by 8pm.
What are we learning next week with Mrs. Gosney?
Math-I am so impressed with how well your students did with the pre-algebra concepts this past week. All of them seem to have a firm grasp of how to turn word problems into expressions and equations. This week Math 5 students will continue to work on this skill while Math 5/6 students will learn about the inverse property and solve some basic one step equations. There will be a test later on Thursday.
Science- This week we will continue our exploration of light. So far, the students have watched a video that explains some very basic principles of light such as reflection, how it travels, and other properties. By the end of the week, students should be able to understand how our eyes see color and know more light related concepts and vocabulary. A test on this will be on Friday.
