What are we learning next week with Mrs. Toth?
Reading/Writing- We will continue to analyze different types of media in class by viewing and listening to various examples. Students will think creatively using the five attributes of media to design their own advertisements. In writing, students will follow the steps of the writing process to complete a writing prompt in class. They will work on their Independent Work Menu which will be posted to this week’s reading folder in Schoology.
Social Studies- Wow! The Southeast State projects look fantastic, and I am so proud of our 5th graders! I am truly impressed with the great deal of research and creativity on display in each awesome project! Students are encouraged to check out the projects in the Flipgrid gallery which will be posted on this week’s Independent Work Menu. We will continue our study of the states and explore the Northeast region this week. Students will have a quiz on the states and capitals of the northeastern states next Friday, March 19th. A study guide will be provided in class.
What are we learning next week with Mrs. Gosney?
Math- We will finally finish with multiplying fractions this week. From there, we will be moving on to variables. There will be very important vocabulary introduced this week for the students to learn. Please review and study with them. There will be a vocabulary quiz on the information and even though the vocab is straight from the notes, many students in the past have not done well with it.
Science- This week we will be working on learning all about Sound! We started the topic last Thursday, and the students seem to enjoy it so far. As we are still adjusting to our new in person schedule and Wellness Wednesdays, I do not want to make a firm commitment on the date of the test. I feel as if the students may be ready for one on Friday, but will update the calendar on my website as soon as I can. If it is not there by Wednesday, there will not be a test this week.
