- LATE WORK: THIS IS A CHANGE FOR THE NINE WEEKS!!!!: We will continue to scaffold support to work towards following the HVA late work policy this nine weeks. Remember students' expectation in MIDDLE school will follow the late policy listed below so we would like to scaffold kids to reach this expectation by next year. The third nine weeks, all work that is LATE will be 5 POINTS OFF PER WEEK until a 50 is reached! We want 5th graders to be ready for middle school next year and all of the policies they follow. We have slowly scaffolded the students on late work and counted it as 5 points off their total grade up to this point. The fourth nine weeks, we will reach compliance with the HVA late policy that is listed below. Please keep checking the missing work document in order to make sure work is being turned in by your child in a timely fashion.
Harrington Missing Work Document
Gosney Missing Work Document
Our expectations for students attending the Henrico Virtual Academy are high and our teachers will provide the support necessary for students to succeed. In regards to late work, teachers will deduct 10 percent for each class period that the assignment is not turned in as a late penalty. This is in addition to any points deducted for incorrect work. Late work will not be accepted after the maximum grade for an assignment reaches 50% before points are deducted for incorrect work.
- WELLNESS WEDNESDAY is back up and running this week!!! Please encourage your child to sign up for one on one conferences if needed to discuss grades! They should also take advantage of this time to catch up on missing work or study for upcoming tests!!!
