Whew! The science project is finally done! I know you're relieved too. I was impressed with all of the top notch projects that were shared with me. And look forward to reading your child's reflection on the projects to see what their thoughts are about their learning during the process.
Today you should have received your child's interim. Please review the report, sign it, and send it back to school with your child as soon as possible. Starting tomorrow in math we will begin working on variables and equations. This is a fun unit and one of my favorites! I hope that your child will find it enjoyable as well. In science we started talking about fossils today. We will do some exploration of the subject and even make one of our own in the next few days. An end of unit test will be coming up before the end of next week. Writing is going very well and our big focus in the coming weeks will be on revising and editing. I have such great writers in my class, but I feel like they can "give me more" when it comes to elaborating. Also, next week, we will be doing a gingerbread house design challenge in the classroom. I will be posting a bulletin on nlist soon asking for donations to help with the project. I'm sure it will be a great time!
