Parent Teacher Conference signups are closing today. If you need to schedule a conference time, please do so soon.
A peek at our academics:
Math: We finished decimal computation and the scores on the online test were great! A few students still need to finish their test, but they will be able to complete it on Monday. Next week we will begin working with Order of Operations. I expect to be able to have a test Friday.
Reading: We are working on the elements of plot. There will be a plot test sometime next week. I am looking toward Wednesday or Thursday. It depends on when the students have had enough instruction to be able to master the concept. Please check google calendar next Monday to find out the actual date.
Writing: We are working with prewriting skills. This ties in nicely with our study of plot in reading as the students can use what they are learning about plot to develop their own narratives and stories about a variety of topics.
Science: I was blown away by the Science test scores! They were awesome! Thank you so much for studying with your child! Unfortunately, I do not think we are going to have time to do the SOS unit at this time. I was looking at the material and it would take about a month to cover, and I am afraid that it will put us too far behind on our pacing if we were to try to do it now. My plan is to keep the unit until the end of the year and try to fit it in then.
Social Studies: We will continue with our study of Henrico County next week. I hope to be finished with this by the end of next week. All tests and quizzes for social studies are open book at this time.
