If your child is wanting to apply for Moody Middle School, the deadline is fast approaching. Please make sure they have filled out the application and returned it to school!
We have been working on whole number computation, so to give our brains a break, we did a few days of rounding decimal numbers. Please make sure that your child knows the place value of decimals and can read decimal numbers. This is a fourth grade skill and I am happy to say that the majority of students seem to be doing well with it.
On Monday, there was a classwork grade taken for rounding decimals. Then, we moved into computation with decimals. We are going to be working on this for the rest of the week. There will be a test on Friday. Your child should be able to round, add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers with decimals. The two key points that will help them to be successful with this is to remember when adding, subtracting, or dividing decimals, they MUST line up the decimal point, and when multiplying decimals, they ignore the decimals until the end.
