Summer has returned with a vengeance! It is super hot during recess these days. With the return of warm weather, the "end-of-school-itis" is hitting our class too. Please remind your child that we all expect appropriate behavior these last few weeks of school. You can check class dojo to see how they are doing. While the app updates throughout the day, a snapshot of the week is sent to you on Friday evening.
The SOLs are in full swing and we started with our Reading test today. Everyone took their time and worked really hard today! The math tests will be on Monday and Tuesday of next week. I encourage you to have your child work some computational type problems, especially those with 2 digit divisors in the next few days. They can also review their math notebooks to check in on any skills that they need to brush up on. In addition to this, the next few days in class, we will be reviewing different math topics in preparation for the SOL. I am sure they will be ready to knock it out of the park on Monday and Tuesday of next week.
Science is working beautifully as well. Everyone is focused and working with their partner on their final presentation, study guide, and worksheet. I had someone ask if their grade was individual or a "group" grade. The grade will be individual and will be taken using the rubric that is attached to the back of the expectations that were given out in class last week.
The Research Projects are finally almost done! I am looking forward to seeing each of you tomorrow night for the big reveal! The research papers are awesome and I hope your child is excited to show off their work Thursday night! The event will be held from 5:30-6:30. This is a change in the time. If you are unable to attend, please just let me know so I can make sure that everything is set up and ready to go for the evening.
