What are we learning next week with Mrs. Toth?
Reading/Writing- We will continue to review readings skills covered throughout this school year using both fiction and nonfiction texts. I will provide students with additional passages on Achieve 3000 that can be used for comprehension practice. In-Person students who selected to take the SOLs will take their Reading SOL assessment on Friday, May 7th. Virtual learners who selected to take the SOL test will take the assessment on Wednesday, May 12th. More information will be sent home from Mrs. Council this week about the SOLs and VA Remote Student Progress Test.
Social Studies- We will wrap up our study of the Midwest this week. Next, students will learn about the Southwest region this week which covers four states. We will have a quiz Friday, May 14th, on the states and capitals of this region.
What are we learning next week with Mrs. Gosney?
Math-This week we will work on finding perimeter, area, and volume. Students will need to know which measurement to use and how to use the formulas (which will be given) to find the area. Problems may also ask students to find a missing measurement given the total perimeter, area, or volume. There will be a test on Thursday.
Science- This week we will review the fourth grade material on the Solar System and the Earth, Moon, and Sun. I am very excited with how well the students have retained what they learned last year and from earlier this year. We have been playing review games in class and they are doing a fantastic job.
